Traaaaaagedy.

In regards to those Kill Audio figures that I reported on earlier, a message from Coheed and Cambria:

Due to some serious problems at our production facility in Hong Kong, we did not recieve anything like the shipment we had worked so hard to have for you at Comic Con. We only received a small portion of the dolls we were promised and those came in plain white boxes. Furthermore, some of the boxes were damaged and the dolls were not up to the quality standards that we feel you deserve.

We are going to try to make the best of it. - we rescued 35 of the little bastards - they are the Gold version - we will likely not make any more of these, and since there is no art on the box, Claudio and artist Sheldon Vella will be at the con to hand decorate and sign the box.

We are heartbroken and disappointed that this happened, and we hope if you don't manage to get one one now, you'll follow our announcements and get a "proper" doll once they are available.

So here's what we're doing -

First run "Kill Audio Gold doll" - All sales final, no returns. As we said, we have done our absolute best to not sell any dolls with imperfections, but if you happen to find some minor ones on these dolls, you will have to find those endearing. These will be very rare and we wanted to at least have something for those of you who really really want one RIGHT NOW.

The dolls will be $75 each, due to all the hell we've gone through and the fact that we had to reject a quantity and eat costs.

Here's how the 35 dolls will be made available at Comic Con - at the IMAGE COMICS BOOTH #2729

Thursday July 24th - 10am - 10 dolls will be made available - we suggest you come early.

Friday July 25th - 10am - 10 more dolls will be made available.

Saturday July 26th - 10am -15 dolls will be made available.

and that's it.

Claudio and Sheldon will be on hand early to get creative on the boxes if you want them to. They will be there to sign the purchased dolls ONLY - no signings of comic books or other items will take place outside of the scheduled signing times.

Please accept our apologies that we won't have more KA dolls available and we hope to have updated info for you soon.

Here is what else we will have in stock at Comic Con, Image Comics booth #2729.

The Amory Wars Tshirt - NEW! - $15

The Amory Wars Comics:

Volume 1
Issue 1 - Variant - $10-15 (while they last)

Reading, Learning, and Destroying

When I was a junior in high school my first period class I was actually a T.A for Mr. Vargas; a Spanish teacher that I previously had my freshman year. I chose him because I knew his aides had it chill. I'd pick up his mail every morning from the office then sit infront of one of the computers in the room either doing homework that I didn't finish, study, eat, sleep, or surf the net. I suppose I occasionally graded papers and tests, but he'd usually ask me if I wasn't too busy doing anything else.

One of the sites that I came across when I wasn't giving kids F's for not conjugating verbs correctly was EVILMONITO. I don't remember exactly what attracted me to this online magazine (one of the few of its kind at the time), but I just remember scouring through the pages and being amazed by its contents. Perhaps it was the theme of deconstructing pop culture. I have to give credit to Mr. Kim and EM for introducing me to things that I am in fact still into today. The magazine content on the site itself has been on hiatus since 2005 and things have definitely grown since then. As an avid fan of this site, I invite you to take a look at the new things brewing at EVILMONITO. Be prepared to read, learn, and destroy.

Quasi Super Vomit of a Post

Yes, I know it has been quite some time since my last post. The time in between then and now I was probably living in the library study room with 8 or so other guys going over things such as cost-benefit analysis, 1/2mv², amount of distance a spring may compress as a 50 lb head smashes against it, and maybe even how to use a new TI-89 Titanium Graphing Calculator...

Other than my cell phone and baby wipes, I use this thing practically everyday. The simultaneous equation solver (a basic matrix), and polynomial root finder (quadratic equation solver) make finding variables much, much easier. Not to mention the Notefolio program helps when your 3"x5" card just isn't enough. Nahmean?

With Claudio's (Coheed and Cambria) new comic Kill Audio, Evil Ink Comics in conjunction with VinylCut will release a 7" figure of a super stabbed Claudio. A bloody variant will also be released. On top of that, a SECRET LIMITED variant will be released at none other than... you know... the San Diego Comic-Con.

Have YOU seen the second episode of Macross Frontier? I still haven't seen it, but I thought the first episode was good enough to make me feel that I should continue the series.

I thought the reworked version of Do You Remember Love? was a nice touch. NOSTALGIA, son...

By the way, I'm looking for this shirt. Apparently they only sold them in Akihabara in Japan during some huge anime festival or whatever. Not sure where else to get them or who I can proxy them from. Some one, please help me out. I think I may be a size LARGE in these tees.

Anyone? Help?

Spinning Bird Kick!

...that's what she says, right?

Smallville's Kristin Kreuk to be lightning legged Chun Li in the newest Street Fighter movie in oh-nine. This should be the peak of all your female video game character fantasies come true.

Directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak (Speed, Romeo Must Die, Thirteen Days), this Street Fighter story surrounds Chun Li and her "quest for justice".

Now, we're all left to wonder which outfit they'll put Kristin in.

AH HEE HEE HEE HEE HEE! YATTA!

Home for the Holidays.

Sorry for the lack of updates on my part. It has been a busy and tough quarter. It's all G though... I'm back home in SD to catch up on sleep and laziness.

A while back, I received a package from Enna (remember? Kami-Robo?) that contained an issue of QUANTO magazine; Japan's top selling magazine for toy model kit and hobby enthusiasts. To my suprise, They included a tiny photo of me with Yasui san in the insert the magazine did on the San Diego Comic-Con.

(Yeah, that's what I look like. My cover is blown. Don't come after me in the streets, ya punks.)

When I got home, mom left me some mail on my desk...

Fall 2007 issue of THEME magazine.

(In case you can't read the text on the left side, that hat is a large bra. Throw some D's on that _____!)

Also on my desk, a copy of Staple's 10th Anniversary look book featuring models Sakiko Ann Sugano and Maria Ozawa. I'm not gonna link them here, so google them yourself. Photos by Yonehara himself. He is awesome.

Cheap stuff for sale at Commissary (SD). This shop is always killin' it.

Gonna eat some Popeyes then go back to sleep. Should be up around 11:30 AM - Noon.

BRB.

RETSIRHC's WEEKLY 5 - WEEK #2

Sorry for the delay. I've been studying all this week for one midterm and all I can say is that I'm glad it's over. Here are some things that got me through the week.

1. Vitamin Water - XXX

I'm not a fan of energy drinks. Just one of those small ones will have me wiggin' out. I'd rather feel refreshed all the time than be wired. My beverage of choice is Glaceau Vitamin Water's XXX. Trust me, there's nothing dirty about this drink. I bet they named this XXX because they knew someone as hot as (insert insanely hot person's name here) would drink. Or, the three X's represent acai, blueberry, and pomegranate (triple antioxidants). I'd type out Vitamin Water's description of it, but I prefer that you'd purchase one, read the label, and drink it yourself. I wouldn't put it in my 5 if I didn't believe in it.

2. Tiger's Milk

I told my friend that the only meal I had for the day was Tiger's Milk. He looked at me with a confused face.

I pack a few of these and save them for the little breaks in between studying. Best paired with water. I'll take any variety. I'm still trying to figure out why they named this Snickers killer Tiger's Milk. Whatever though... tigers are awesome.

3. Visine

Some of my friends keep a bottle of Visine right next to their body spray. They tend to use both right before they head out to go eat massive amounts of food like they haven't eaten in days.

Waking up at the butt crack of dawn getting only 4 hours of sleep doesn't leave my eyes at their whitest. Not to mention, they hurt a little from the annoying sunrise. Putting eye drops in took some practice. I'd tilt my head back, prepare to drop one in my eye, and have it land on my cheek. After getting it down, I must say that my eyes feel great.

4. Fitted Hats

For the days when you just gotta get up and go. Cover up the bed head and get the day crackin'. You're a sucker if you're still wearing one with any stickers on the brim. Sorry.

5. Bed

Everyone loves their sleep. If I could, I'd eat my bed. You cannot resist your bed. It's where magic happens. It's where dreams come true. No matter what, your bed will be there when you get home 12+ hours later.

RETSIRHC's Weekly 5 - Week 10/07

It's been a while since my last post, so I thought I'd try something new every week. Basically, I'll be listing my weekly 5 things that are doing it for me at the moment.

1. Stateofmindradio.com

I stumbled across State of Mind when I heard a funk mix Cros1 (The Armory) did on Jazz 88 radio in SD. Actually, I've been listening to a lot of mixes lately and a couple of my favorites are on the State of Mind podcast. Check out SOM_PODCAST1.mp3 to hear SmallyBiggs do a mash up of The Knife's "Heartbeats" and Kanye's "Get 'Em High."$$$!!!!

2. Pure Blue Japan

The PBJ-XX005BK is quite possibly the toughest pair of denim I've ever owned. I got a pair back in June from SoHo New York denim specialty shop Blue in Green. Initially in their raw state, BiG offered to one wash these free of charge so I could wear 'em outta the box! For those who aren't denim afficionados, the jeans in their raw, unwashed state are actually bigger than tagged size and usually require a hot soak and wash to shrink them down. The 14oz denim on these joints are super slubby. I couldn't put too much wear into these during the summer cause it was too damn hot. Since the weather has been fairly nice lately, I've been trying to wear these at least 3 times a week. So far the fades are subtle, but I hope they turn out just as the indigo ones do.

3. Visvim G.Cowan Hi

Remember those Visvim Kiefers awhile back that I posted about? Remember how I said that I'd consider getting a pair? Hopefully for cheap? Well, I wasn't able to get the exact pair of Kiefers, BUT I did manage to find a pair of the Visvim G-Line Cowans. The G-Line is Visvim's American line so-to-speak. These are basically your vulcanized hi-top sport shoe with improvements in its cushioning making that statement of having to sacrifice comfort for fashion obsolete. Thanks to Vincent for hooking me up with this pair.

4. Canon Digital Rebel XTi

My new toy. I haven't asked for a new toy since 3-3/4" G.I Joes. So far I'm having lots of fun with it. Be sure to look out for some of my snaps that I take. Those will be posted somewhere. Maybe. No promises. First, let me find time to play with it.

5. Turning 21

(Not my birthday cake. I have no idea who these women are.)

This explains my new toy. I hope Edison Chen and Toni Braxton got new toys too.

Stussy Sale and More 09/29

SKATE SHOE and OUTLET SALE!!!
STUSSY - PAUL FRANK - WORLD INDUSTRIES - PLANET EARTH - GLOBE - ADIO - and MORE!!!

Where:
La Sierra High School 4145 La Sierra Ave. Riverside, CA

When:
Saturday, September 29th

Time:
10am-2pm

Sponsored by: Engineering and Technology Club
• Visa and Mastercard Accepted
• Info: 760.945.0097

Depending on what you're looking for, these sales aren't too bad. Don't believe that you have to get their early to get all the good stuff. True, there might be some hidden gems here and there, but there's definitely something for everyone. Not to mention, most items are at wholesale prices. In the past, I've been able to find some tees that most people throw to side including Stussy collabo tees with Complete Finesse, Neighborhood, and NEXUS7. The workers there know what's up, so when you head to the cash register to purchase, those tees may be a bit more expensive than the rest. This would be a good time for you to start your Christmas shopping early. Also, you'll be helping out an engineering and technology club. HA!

Keep Company Fall 2007

Keep Company has just announced that their Fall 2007 collection is available for sale on their website. On the real, even though these shoes are for women, I'd definitely size up and rock some of their models. The Nuss, Guerra, and Ramos specifically. Peep it.

Murakami and Mr for SUPREME

In coincidence with the previous Murakami post, Supreme has just announced its collaboration skate deck with the artist.

Also joining in this effort, is Murakami's assistant, Mr ("Mister"). Mr's works are often of cute, cartoony characters portrayed in a sexual manner which is supposed to represent the Lolita-esque culture that so happens to fascinate some readers of Japanese comics.

(Images: Supreme)

Each artist has designed three decks and will be available at both Supreme store-fronts in the U.S. and at four Supreme stores in Japan. Also, the decks will hit Supreme's online store which opens September 20th after 11am EST. That's 2pm for us westcoast cats.

Some one help me out with the Tera Patrick tee. Heather grey preferably - size Meeeds.

Kami-Robo in Roppongi Hills

This past August, Yasui san exhibited about 30 of his Kami-Robo at the Roppongi Hills Art & Design Museum shop. Once Comic-Con ended, Yasui san took the red eye out back to Japan to set this up.

Enna was able to snap some pictures of the display and was once again so kind to send these over to me. THANK YOU, ENNA! Okee Dorkee exclusives, ya'll!
