I was going through this Sunday's newspaper (yup, I'm ancient and don't read my news online) and noticed the trendy propaganda everywhere to 'Go Green.' Who says propaganda is bad? I say anything to help pimp out the message that we need to help out mama earth is fine with me. Even adding another kinda fake holiday. Move over Valentine's and St. Patrick's day, Earth Day is about the blow you out. Hopefully =)

So one of the things I fell for was the promo at Home Depot. They are offering a FREE reusable tote to anyone. No purchase necessary. Don't 'cha just LOVE FREE stuff??? They also have dedicated a section of ways to help your home become more greener. I love that it's in beige and underneath the green imprinted earth it says "home improvement." (see above photo)

Also promoting reusable totes is Macy's. Their totes are $3.95 with a dollar of it going towards to the National Park Foundation. (see below)

Every store nowadays have their own version of reusable totes. Pick 'em up and don't forget to use it =)

Stella McCartney for LeSportsac

LeSportsac has done it again!

"Done what?" you might be asking.

They've teamed up with a super awesome designer and are releasing a fantastically fabulous line of bags and accessories!

This time around, Stella McCartney was behind the drawing board. An array of flowers and stars adorn her pastel colored bags as well as solid greys. Her spring/summer collection will be released soon.

Can't wait for it to hit your local department store and boutiques? No problem! The whole line can be viewed on the LeSportsac website and is available for pre-orders.

I'm absolutely loving the little bunny keychains that go with the bags and there's even a bunny shaped backpack (shown above, $120).

Of course the tote I want is $325 . . . I shall be left drooling.

Ring in the Holiday with Gama Go

It's November now and holiday cheer is spread all over the place. Yes, I know Turkey Day hasn't stumbled upon us yet, but Christmas is just around the corner (and all over malls!). Why not start shopping now? Gama-Go will be holding their Fourth Annual Holiday Sale on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 12-5 p.m at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. This sale only happens once a year, folks!

Hot Plate! Hot Plate!

Poketo, makers of fantastically awesome wallets, bags, and t-shirts, has added something new to their arsenal: homeware! I saw these plates over at the Poketo booth during Comic Con and thought they were too cute to use, but Angie (co-owner of Poketo) said they eat on them all the time! They're dishwasher (but not microwave) safe and super light-weight.

The artwork on the plates are courtesy of Tokyo-based artists PCP and Ogi. Poketo always collaborates with various artists for their products which I totally love about the company :) These plates are $32 for a set of two and come in a screen-printed box.

Angie also said they were thinking of expanding the homeware line by adding cups.

Something else thats new on the Poketo site is stationary. Journals, pens, a photo album, planner, envelopes . . . so many new things!

Hello Kitty: For Big Girls

Girls all over the world have been rockin' Hello Kitty gear since the little feline with a [adorable] big head made her debut in 1976. But some of us have grown older and just don't want to say "Bye-Bye Kitty" . . . so what alternatives do we have? Some of the merchandise at Sanrio, like purses and several t-shirts, we just can't seem to get away with them like we did back in elementary school.

But here's a grown up solution: Jewelry!

A few years ago, jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino was invited by Sanrio to partake in a collaboration featuring Hello Kitty on her brightly colored necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and hair-clips. The "Pink Head" collection, which she designed to have Hello Kitty with her signature fuchsia hair, was made and since then, she has come out with a few series including Pink Head Mod, Pink Head Bride, Pink Head Rose, and various others including my personal fave Russian Nouveau.







And coming soon, a collaboration with Tokidoki is on it's way! I first found out about it when I saw this picture on the Tokidoki blog in early March:

I love how Hello Kitty is wearing the heart and crossbones instead of her regular ribbon. And she's right smack-dab in the middle of the Nana and Adios star -- so cute! I'll definitely keep you guys posted about the Hello Kitty vs. Tokidoki collection just as soon as more info about it is released.

After seeing them everywhere on the web, I finally purchased these rings this past weekend during a little road trip to L.A. After our trip to see Gallery 1988's Show, I am 8 Bit, (and stopping by M Cafe de Chaya, JapanLa, and Turntable Lab) we whisked over to GiantRobot2 ten minutes before they were scheduled to close.

I purchased two rings from Alissiamt's Bling_Blink diamond ring series. They come in two thicknesses, an array of colors, and are either transparent or solid in color. I love the humor of it all -- it's an acrylic Tiffany-setting silhouette. ba-ba-BLING! hahaha. It's the Perfect placeholder while the Real ring is in the shop -- whether it's getting resized or waiting to be bought.

My Foolproof Blind Box

I really don't like the concept of Blind Boxes. If I know what toy I want, why can't I have the choice? I'm a consumer who wants what I want. Why must I leave it all to fate? I don't wanna get stuck with some bunk-looking toy. I want the super-duper cool one! (hee hee, boo-hoo, right?)

Well, if you are like me and hate surprises, you can't go wrong with this Hello Kitty hang tag Blind Box. Really, when does Hello Kitty look bad? Never! My BF got me one at Mitsuwa Marketplace in San Diego. There are five possible styles: Pula Loli Hello Kitty, Lolita, Punk, Gothic, and a Variant one (according to the box, this Hello Kitty would have a heart-shaped eye patch!)

The style I got was Hello Kitty Punk. I love the detail...her stitched top hat, lil punk rawk tie, striped lil knee highs, her black armband that screams rebel, and of course the trademark bow. She's made of plastic and all her limbs 'move' when in motion. She's my purse charm for now, but I think I might convert her to a necklace. OH, the possibilities...

Fafi vs. LeSportsac: Tre chic!

Now that we are all aware of what a bagasm is, it's safe for me to say I nearly had multiple ones when I heard that French graffiti artist Fafi was going to collaborate with LeSportsac for their Artist Series collection over a year ago. And thank the Fashion Gods, the wait is over!

The colorful print Fafi designed tells the story of a girl "who was looking for the magic in her life and discovers the tree that blooms LeSportsac bags." A tree that blooms bags? Oh how I wish it were so!

I used my Small Travel Tote on Monday and as I was walking to class, some random guy said, "Oh, your bag is dope!" Plus my boyfriend has said that it's very "sparkly and colorful." And cute!
