Kermit is My Homeboy

Hang with your green childhood roll dawg frog and immortalize yourself as a Muppet! Finally, my prayers have been answered! FAO Schwarz is giving you the chance to build your own "Muppet WhatNots." You pick the color of the muppet, the type of eyes, hair and outfit. Okay, your Muppet WhatNot doesn't need to look like you per se, but shouldn't you also join in on the alter ego craze?!

Wall-E

The one thing I regret about last year's Comic Con was not attending the press panel for the new Pixar/Disney flick Wall-E, written and directed by Andrew Stanton -- the mastermind behind Finding Nemo

Wall-E doesn't hit theaters until the 27th, but I've been anticipating it's release since I saw teasers for it a little after Con. I mean, hello. It's about a cute little curious robot that's destined to save the world (or something like that).

Oh yes, and with these kind of movies you know there's going to be TOYS!!! I've already looked into it. Y'know, for my own interest and your's, dear reader. O_o

You Light Up My Life

Valentine's Day is fast approaching.
Who doesn't love handmade presents? Score big and turn on (silly pun intended) the romance with a cool DIY project brought to you by those cool peeps at FredFlare.

Chris helps you step-by-step. Totally nothing to it and I'm sure you all have MOST of the materials at home:
*scissors
*single hole punch
*heart shaped choclate box (don't have this handy? buy one and chow down the chocolate while creating the masterpiece!)
*scotch tape
*duct tape
*rikrak (or a ribbon of your choice will work too)
*beads (recycle those mardi gras beads!)
*old lampshade
*lamp base of your choice
*light bulb

Check out their podcast and learn how to make Chris' self-proclaimed "World Famous Heart Shape Lampshade!"

Don't forget to include:
*a mushy card with cheesy light puns!
*a mixtape using the word light
my faves:
Bob Marley featuring Lauryn Hill - Turn your lights down low
World Class Wrecking Crew - Turn off the lights
TLC - Red light special
Debby Boone - You light up my life

BLOC28 by Disney

Disney and BLOC28 asked artists Steven Daily, David Flores, Mear One, Craola, and Slick to improvise their own recreation of the renowned Disney mouse. Meltdown Comics off Sunset Blvd is showcasing a series of products and original prints by said artists through July 4th. So, if you don't plan on barbecuing in the backyard, head on over to Meltdown and take a glimpse of BLOC28 products before they hit stores.
