bustin' a Kwik E

Murse1 and I checked out a Kwik-E-Mart a couple of saturdays ago.
Yes, it was surreal to see the 7-11 converted into a Kwik-E-Mart (post about the experience to follow,) but the dorky designer in me was more interested in their signage.

Oh so Simpsons-esque -- I really thought I was in Springfield!

I love the vibrant cartoonie colors...

...their witty slogans, which stayed true to the sarcastic Simpsons humor...

..the very convincing advertising...

..and the down-right plain silliness of it all...

[fergie would be so proud of this one]
and my personal fave, from the kooky Krusty...
[what a nut!]

Let me leave you with some wise words from Apu...

[He and I mean that from the bottom of our donut-loving hearts!]

As Homer would say, "Whoo Hoo!"

To promote The Simpsons Movie, 12 7-elevens are being converted into Kwik-E-Marts!

Not only are the convenience stores renovated too look straight from the celebrated cartoon on the outside but, like all of the 7-eleven stores that aren't converted, they're full of the shows characters and products!

Buzz Cola!

KrustyO's!

Slurpees made into Squishees!

There are even Radioactive Man comics, labeled issue 711 especially made for the promotion too!

The locations for the Kwik-E-Marts are listed here on the 7-eleven website. Find one near you and see "The Frostillicus" for yourself!

Simpsons x Vans Sneak Peek

Here are a few links via highsnobiety of the upcoming Simpsons x Vans collabo...

Stash with what looks like a Sk8-Mid/Low?! The toe box doesn't look like an Era or Authentic.

Kaws comes through with his rendition of Simpsons characters once again on a Chukka that resembles school notebook paper. Fresh.

One of my favorites, NECKFACE brings a black Chukka with his stylings of Lisa.

As of right now, I'm feeling the NECKFACE Chukka and this here Mr. Cartoon slip-on. I already have enough black shoes, but I'm gonna definitely have to make room for one of these.

I'm About to Have a Cow, Man...

With 7-11s quickly turning into Kwik-E-Marts to promote the upcoming release of The Simpsons Movie, Vans is collaborating with 12 different artists to create Simpsons themed shoes. The line up of artists is serious. I'm personally looking forward to see how Futura, Stash, Mr. Cartoon, Kaws, Taka, and that NECKFACE mash up with The Simpsons characters. Releasing July 14th in limited supply.
